Biography

Dean Pindell received his A.B. in Economics in 1993 from Duke University and his J.D. in 1996 from Harvard Law School. Following graduation, he practiced community development law in Baltimore, MD, before taking on a fellowship and a visiting assistant professorship at the University of Baltimore School of Law in the Community Development Clinic. In 2000, he joined the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, as an Assistant Professor and was promoted to Professor in 2008. Throughout his tenure at UNLV, he has held numerous academic administrative roles, including Vice Provost and Special Advisor to the Executive Vice President and Provost from January to July 2019, Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs from 2016 to 2018, and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Vice Dean of the Boyd School of Law from 2012 to 2016. His research and teaching interests encompass areas of property law, wills and trusts, affordable housing, community development, and local government law.
