Dr. Jack Rydell

Biography

Jack E. Rydell is the Chair and Professor in the Nursing Department at Concordia College. With a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, Rydell specializes in nursing education, with a concentration in quality improvement interventions for pain assessment in nursing home settings. He also holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Dakota and a Bachelor of Arts in Nursing from Jamestown College. His areas of expertise include gerontology, oncology, end-of-life care, hospice care administration, kidney transplantation, critical care, and hemodialysis. Rydell has contributed to nursing scholarship through various presentations at conferences, including the Sanford Nursing Symposium and the Annual Nursing Research Showcase, where he received accolades for his poster presentations. He is a member of several professional nursing organizations including the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and the American Nurses Association. Rydell is also actively involved in community service, such as volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. His interests include gardening, travel, and participating in volunteer activities.
