David Calnitsky is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at Western University. His research interests encompass sociological theory, social policy, and poverty. He has empirically examined the impact of basic income on various outcomes, including wages and the social stigma associated with gender dynamics. His work is published in prestigious journals such as Socio-economic Review, Sociological Theory, Social Problems, and the Canadian Review of Sociology. He is currently engaged in a book project analyzing social theory and its application to social change, collaborating with Michael McCarthy. Calnitsky specializes in areas including social theory, inequality, gender, social change, work, poverty, and economic sociology.
