Dr. Nishardi Waidyaratne-Wijeratne completed her medical education in Colombo, Sri Lanka and later moved to Canada to pursue a Master’s in Bioethics at the University of Toronto. She completed her psychiatry residency at Queen’s University in 2015. Since then, she has been actively involved in teaching, notably serving as the Pre-clerkship course director for Psychiatry at Queen’s Medical School starting in 2015. Her clinical practice primarily focuses on Eating Disorders, where she acts as the lead psychiatrist at the Adult Eating Disorders Clinic and the Intensive Day Treatment Program for Eating Disorders at Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC). Her contributions to medical education and psychiatry have been significant, especially in the areas of ethics and patient care in the treatment of eating disorders.
