Biography

John Batter is a retired Litigation Partner in the Boston Office of Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP where he focused on defending public and private companies, their directors, and management against breach of fiduciary duty claims and securities fraud allegations. He possesses extensive experience in SEC investigations and class action defenses. As a Senior Lecturer at Harvard Business School, John teaches the course Law, Management and Entrepreneurship. His legal career includes representing major firms in complex litigation and providing guidance on corporate governance matters. John is influential in securities litigation, recognized by multiple legal publications. He has taught courses at both Harvard and MIT, emphasizing essential law for business. Outside of academia, he contributes to various councils and foundations, addressing public interest legal matters.
