Graham Epstein is a Research Assistant Professor with expertise in human dimensions of conservation and natural resource management. His research addresses a range of questions at the intersection of people, environment, and policy, aiming to advance our understanding of policies designed to support collective action and compliance in sustainable natural resource management across diverse social and ecological contexts. He is committed to contributing to advances in theory and practice by working across disciplinary boundaries and collaborating with partners from government and non-governmental organizations to address pressing social and environmental problems. Epstein's current research activities seek to inform the development of an indicator framework for assessing water governance in Canada, enhance landscape-level social benefits from nature-based solutions through spatial targeting and coordination, and advance the understanding of the relationship between complex social-ecological contexts and institutional performance.
