Biography

Léna Pellandini-Simányi is an Associate Professor in the Institute of Marketing and Communication Management at Università della Svizzera italiana. She holds a Master's degree in Economics and Marketing and a PhD in Sociology from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Léna directs the 'Business, Markets and Society' undergraduate specialization and co-chairs the Economic Sociology Research Committee of the Swiss Sociological Association, as well as the 'N: Finance and Society' network of the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics. Her research interests broadly encompass the interrelation between markets and moralities, focusing on the influence of digital finance on social classes and economic subjectivities. She has extensively studied financial markets, consumer behavior, and ethical consumption, publishing works in various esteemed journals. Léna is the author of 'Consumption Norms and Everyday Ethics' and leads multiple research projects funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, including initiatives related to economic subjectivities in the context of retail finance.
