Jae Sharpe is a Sessional Lecturer in the Department of English Language and Literatures at the University of British Columbia. They specialize in United States literature after World War II, with a particular focus on postmodern maximalist texts and digital humanities. Their research interests include the influence of the Cold War on literature, especially as it relates to authors such as David Foster Wallace, Thomas Pynchon, and Don DeLillo. Sharpe's published works contribute to New Media Studies, including an analysis of the video game 'Kentucky Route Zero'. They hold a B.A. (Honors) in English from Wilfrid Laurier University, an M.A., and a Ph.D. from the University of British Columbia. Sharpe began their teaching career at UBC in 2022, engaging students in contemporary literature and its socio-political contexts through various innovative pedagogical strategies.
