Linda Duffett-Leger is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary, recognized for her research in health promotion and disease prevention strategies. Her current work includes leading interdisciplinary studies focused on wearable devices that empower nurses to monitor and maintain back health. Duffett-Leger is also a member of the Biomedical Engineering Steering Committee, actively participating in strategic university initiatives. Her research interests encompass Injury Prevention, Maternal Health, Mental Health, Musculoskeletal Issues, Chronic Illness, and Public Health. She has been acknowledged as a Rising Star by Chatelaine magazine and recognized among the Top 5 Women Revolutionizing Healthcare in Canada. Over the last decade, Duffett-Leger has been involved in community-based research, contributing to projects that aim to support mothers experiencing postpartum depression. Her involvement in programs like the Sensor Technology Monitoring Movement (STiMM) highlights her commitment to integrating innovative technology into healthcare. Previously, she received the Faculty of Nursing Pursuit of Excellence Award for her mentorship and was honored with the ASTech Award for innovation in healthcare technology.
