Biography

Hassan Masoud is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Alberta in the Faculty of Arts, specializing in Philosophy. His courses include Symbolic Logic, which focuses on sentential logic, translation, semantics, decision procedures, and natural deduction, as well as Practical Logic, where he explores methods and principles for analyzing everyday reasoning. Additionally, he teaches Philosophy of Science, addressing the central issues in contemporary philosophy of science, including theory evaluation, paradigm shifts, and the rationality of science within its social and historical context. Hassan engages students in discussions on foundational topics such as causation, explanation, and the implications of scientific theories in contemporary debates.
