Biography

Andrzej Kotlicki is a Lecturer in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of British Columbia. He has an extensive academic background, having completed his Master's and Doctoral degrees at Warsaw University in 1968 and 1974, respectively. Dr. Kotlicki began his career as an Assistant Professor at Warsaw University, where he taught from 1974 to 1987 before joining UBC. At UBC, he has held a tenured position and continues to contribute to research and education in applied physics, condensed matter physics, and astronomy. His research interests include applied optics, acoustics, and outreach. Beyond teaching, Kotlicki is passionate about engaging students in the physical sciences and contributing to the academic community. He has been recognized with the Faculty of Science Award for his contributions. In his personal life, he enjoys hobbies such as sailing and skiing.
