Gunseli Tumer-Alkan is an Associate Professor at the Department of Finance at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She received her PhD in Finance from Tilburg University. Since 2008, she has been a guest researcher at the Deutsche Bundesbank, engaging in projects related to Financial Stability and Financial Intermediation. Her current research interests focus on the banking industry, bank-firm relationships, lending behaviour, market discipline, and the transmission of liquidity shocks. Through her academic activities, she contributes to various courses such as Financial Data Decision Analysis and Financial Management, while also supervising research projects and theses. Tumer-Alkan's work reflects a dedication to understanding the complexities within finance and is aimed at improving financial systems.
