Biography

Onno Bouwmeester is an Associate Professor in Consulting and Business Ethics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and has been a Professor at Durham University Business School since 2023. He holds Master’s degrees in Philosophy and Economics from the University of Amsterdam and a PhD in Business Administration from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. With extensive experience as a management consultant at KPMG, he joined the School of Business and Economics in 2001. He has played a pivotal role in developing the MSc Management Consulting program at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His research interests include Management Consulting, Business Ethics, and Rhetorical Analysis, focusing on the implications of decision-making processes and the role of consultants in client relationships. He teaches courses on Strategy Evaluation and Business Ethics. He also contributes to executive education programs and has successfully supervised multiple PhD students. Notable contributions include writings on economic advice, moral disengagement strategies, and entrepreneurship rhetoric.
