Biography

Olga Baysal is the Director of the Institute for Data Science and an Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science at Carleton University. She received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo in 2014, an MMath in Computer Science from the same institution in 2006, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Vyatka State University in 2001. Her research focuses on software engineering, particularly in mining software repositories and understanding the human aspects of software engineering. Baysal employs empirical techniques in software engineering to study software development processes, utilizing software analytics to enhance decision-making practices among practitioners. She is also a member of the Software Analytics Research Group, where her work emphasizes examining large datasets to synthesize knowledge from development artifacts and community contributions.
