Gloria Roldan Urgoiti is an Associate Professor in the Department of Oncology at the University of Calgary. She earned her Medical degree from the University of the Republic in Uruguay in 1999 and completed her Specialist training in Medical Oncology at the same university in 2004. She holds a Master's degree in Biomedical Research, again from the University of the Republic. Dr. Roldan Urgoiti has undergone extensive training in Neuro-Oncology, completed a Clinical Research Fellowship in the Department of Neurosciences, and has completed multiple fellowships at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre. Her primary research interests include the design and implementation of clinical trials, particularly those aimed at enhancing immune responses in patients with Glioblastoma. Dr. Roldan Urgoiti is actively involved in the Alberta Breast Cancer Screening Program, focusing on reducing cultural barriers to cancer screening. In addition to her research, she enjoys teaching and mentoring future specialists in Medical Oncology. She has been a Program Director for the General Practitioners Oncology Focused Training Program, emphasizing improvements in care for patients from remote communities. Additionally, she leads workshops on Medical Professionalism for International Medical Graduates.
