Hanspeter Frei is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Carleton University. His research revolves around the biomechanics of the hip and spine, with a particular focus on understanding the pathomechanisms associated with hip osteoarthritis and the prediction and prevention of osteoporotic hip fractures. Dr. Frei combines both experimental and numerical research to gain a deeper understanding of these pathomechanisms, which leads to the development of new treatment strategies. Additionally, he investigates additive manufacturing technologies to create patient-specific spinal and hip implants.
