Omer Dzemali is a prominent figure in the field of cardiac surgery, currently serving as the Director of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the University Hospital Zurich (USZ) and Head of the Alliance for Cardiac Surgery Zurich. In October 2023, he received the prestigious Venia Legendi from the University of Zurich in recognition of his contributions to cardiac and thoracic surgery, granting him permanent membership in the Faculty Assembly of the Faculty of Medicine. Dzemali is noted for his expertise in minimally invasive surgery, mitral valve surgery, and reconstructive surgery, with extensive experience spanning multiple prestigious institutions in Europe.
