Dimitri Létourneau obtained a Bachelor’s degree (Honors) from the Faculty of Nursing at the Université de Montréal in 2011. He worked as a clinical nurse for nine years at the Jewish General Hospital providing medical and surgical end-of-life care to adult patients. Concurrently, he pursued his studies at the Université de Montréal, transitioning from a Master’s to a Doctorate level in nursing education. His doctoral thesis aimed to develop a cognitive model of competency learning associated with the humanization of care. Dimitri defended his thesis in February 2020 with exceptional ranking and was then appointed assistant professor at the Faculty. In 2022, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa within the Palliative Care and Nursing Ethics Hub. He then became a regular researcher at the Shared Knowledge Research Center of the Integrated University Health and Social Services Center of North Island of Montreal. His research interests focus on pedagogical approaches that support humanistic nursing practices, moral agency, and professional identity intertwined with professional ideals.
