Hassan Choucair has a strong background in pharmacology and extensive experience in tertiary education. He was awarded an Australian Government Research Training Program scholarship in 2016 to investigate the mechanism of action of a new class of drugs targeting cancer cells at the University of Sydney. He completed his PhD in Medicine in 2020, during which he taught across multiple subjects within various scientific departments at the University of Sydney. In 2021, he became an Academic Lecturer and Education Manager on the Gold Coast, instructing students in science and humanities for entry into Australian medical schools. In 2023, he joined The University of Notre Dame Australia to help establish the School of Health Sciences in Sydney and currently serves as a Lecturer at UNSW, focusing on the Year 1 Biomedical Science curriculum and fostering cancer research networks.
