Biography

Michelle Troberg is an Associate Professor in the Teaching Stream within the Department of Language Studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga. She specializes in French linguistics, with a focus on syntax and the diachronic changes in Romance languages. Her research interests encompass the exploration of grammatical systems and the methods used to investigate historical linguistic change, emphasizing the syntactic structures that underpin argumentation. Troberg is committed to evidence-based pedagogical practices, seeking to engage students in comprehending complex linguistic concepts. She teaches various courses, including Introduction to General Linguistics and Syntactic Patterns in Language, fostering a rich learning environment for students.
