Steven B. Garland is a part-time professor at the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa. He is a Professional Engineer registered with Professional Engineers Ontario and a Registered Patent Agent. He holds an LL.B. from the University of Ottawa, obtained in 1990, and a B.Eng. in Chemical-Biochemical from the University of Western Ontario, awarded in 1985. Garland has been practicing law since 1990 and is also registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. His experience in law and engineering provides a unique perspective on intellectual property and patent law.
