Biography

David R. Clements is an Affiliate Professor at Trinity Western University (TWU), where he also serves as the Assistant Dean of Science. He obtained his PhD from Queen's University in 1991. Clements specializes in invasive weed biology and has published extensively on the subject, focusing on the impacts and management of invasive species in British Columbia, China, and Australia. He has served as an associate editor for several academic journals including the Canadian Journal of Plant Science, Weed Research, Agronomy, and Pacific Science, contributing significantly to the field. Clements has been recognized with the Excellence in Weed Science Award from the Canadian Weed Science Society. He manages TWU's field research sites and teaches courses in botany and ecology, including field courses in locations such as Salt Spring Island and Hawaii. Additionally, he is actively involved in local environmental advocacy and writes a monthly column called Green Beat for a local newspaper.
