Dr. Keisuke Fukuda

Associate Professor

Biography

Keisuke Fukuda is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto Mississauga. His research focuses on understanding the cognitive and neural mechanisms of information processing. He primarily utilizes neuroscience techniques, including electrophysiological recordings, to examine the temporal dynamics of neural networks involved in cognitive processes. Fukuda's work emphasizes individual differences in cognitive abilities, particularly how these differences affect visual working memory (VWM) capacity. He investigates the relationship between cognitive constructs such as fluid intelligence and long-term memory, as well as the neural operations that influence VWM capacity. His ongoing research aims to enhance understanding of VWM capacity's impact on information processing abilities and to develop user-friendly methods for displaying information based on cognitive limitations, ultimately aiming to improve human cognition through scientifically informed designs.
