Luc Vinet is a professor at the Department of Physics of the Université de Montréal and has served as the chief executive officer of IVADO since 2021. He earned his Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Université Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris and has held various academic positions, including a faculty role at MIT. His research focuses on theoretical mathematical physics, emphasizing solvable problems, symmetries, and quantum information. Promoted to full professor in 1992, he has directed the Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM) and has significantly contributed to advancing research institutes in Canada. He also received the Armand-Frappier Prize from the Government of Quebec and held numerous honors, becoming a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Vinet's extensive teaching includes supervising graduate and postdoctoral students, actively promoting equity and inclusion in scientific research, and receiving accolades for his contributions to mathematical sciences.
