Biography

Keelin O'Reilly is a Research Officer at the Drug Policy Modelling Program (DPMP) within the Social Policy Research Centre (SPRC) at UNSW. Since 2022, Keelin has been involved in various projects focusing on alcohol and other drug policy, including treatment planning via the Drug and Alcohol Services Planning Model (DASPM), and analysis of drug laws, diversion programs, and decriminalization. With expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methods, Keelin has participated in government-commissioned projects as well as competitive research grants. Keelin's skills include quantitative data analysis, policy analysis, and conducting qualitative interviews and focus groups with individuals who have lived experience of substance use. In 2021, Keelin completed an Honours thesis at DPMP that examined recommendations from governmental inquiries on drug law reform and decriminalization. In 2022, Keelin had the honor of representing Australia at the UNODC Youth Forum.
