Biography

Deserina Sulaeman holds a PhD in Information Systems from Singapore Management University, complementing her BSc in Computer Engineering from Purdue University, and MBA and MA in Arts Administration from Southern Methodist University. Her interdisciplinary foundation resonates through both her industry experience and pedagogical focus. With a rich blend of business and technology industry experience and a passion to create a more sustainable future, her current teaching focuses on strategic positive impact creation. In her teaching, she guides her students through the confluence of commerce, technology, and impact creation, arming them with pragmatic insights on strategic philanthropy and impact investments. Sulaeman’s industry experience includes an extensive background in technology product development and programme management combined with hands-on engagement with non-profit organizations throughout North America. Her research has been presented at various international conferences, including WISE, HICSS, and PACIS. She publishes her research in the Sustainability journal and writes op-eds for Straits Times and Business Times.
