Dr. Abbey Tan

Biography

Dr. Abbey Tan is a research fellow at Action Lab: Malaysia under the School of IT at Monash University Malaysia. She is currently involved in an EU funded project (WAge) which aims to develop and validate a comprehensive framework for understanding and assessing the roles and interactions between psychosocial and physical risk factors across age groups in the working environment. Her research interests include occupational health, stress and coping, workplace interventions and personality in the workplace. Dr. Abbey's main aspiration is to utilize her research experience to enhance, improve and elevate the quality of working life in Southeast Asia by empowering and equipping working individuals with the appropriate tools to manage work-related stress. She is also interested in working with young people and guiding them towards unlocking their full potential as well-rounded individuals by encouraging personal development and instilling a growth mindset. Additionally, she has a range of volunteering work that includes tutoring, advising and mentoring youths in various areas including academic learning and personal growth.
