Dr. Alexander Engau is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Dalhousie University. He has a strong academic background in optimization and operations research, having obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Kaiserslautern in Management Mathematics and a Ph.D. from Clemson University in Mathematical Sciences. His professional work emphasizes the development of optimization-based models to analyze decision-making scenarios involving trade-offs, risks, and uncertainties. His research interests are particularly focused on logistics, transportation, supply chain management, managerial economics, and engineering finance, alongside classification learning and data analytics.
