Andrew B. Abel is the Ronald Rosenfeld Professor of Finance at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he has been part of the faculty since 1986. He also holds prior appointments at Harvard University and the University of Chicago, along with visiting positions at Tel Aviv University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Abel's research interests span asset pricing, macroeconomics, and monetary economics, with notable contributions to the understanding of investment decisions, measurement errors in econometrics, and the implications of economic policy on markets. He has published extensively in leading journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics and the Quarterly Journal of Finance. In addition to his academic work, he has served as a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and has held advisory roles at the Congressional Budget Office. Abel received his PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1978 and has been recognized as a fellow of the Econometric Society.
