Bridget Scott Akinc is a Senior Lecturer in Work and Organization Studies at MIT Sloan School of Management. She has a strong dedication to local engagement and believes that systems change can significantly strengthen communities. With a passion for innovation, Bridget has been instrumental in founding and leading Building Impact, a nonprofit organization aimed at solving complex social challenges by connecting companies and communities through volunteering and capacity-building initiatives. Under her leadership since 2017, the organization has expanded to operate in thirty states and has developed innovative ways to measure the impact of nonprofits. Before her tenure at Building Impact, Bridget was involved in strategic consulting, focusing on technology-enabled growth across various sectors including finance, education, and automotive industries. She holds an AB with honors from Princeton University and a graduate degree from MIT Sloan. Bridget teaches courses at MIT including "Leading Impact" and remains active in education, previously teaching middle school social studies. She is also a marathon runner and a youth soccer coach, and enjoys visiting national parks with her family.
