Borja co-founded and developed startups in the bioenergy field and the feed/food industry, navigating challenges, pivoting business models, and bringing in strategic partners while raising private capital and leveraging public funds through R&D programs at both national and European levels. He sold Camelina Company España, which became Europe's flagship in camelina production, specifically devoted to the biofuels sector. Additionally, Borja launched ventures in the pet food industry with Doxel Petcare and competed in the horse feed market with Excel Supplements Europe. Before his startup endeavors, he garnered comprehensive experience in the aviation sector as a leader of international projects and teams. His multi-sectoral international background led him to academia, where he currently serves as Associate Professor at I.E. Business School and collaborates on corporate innovation projects through Executive Development Programs at Headspring. Borja is also the Academic Director of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at IE Executive Education and the Global Executive MBA program for BBVA.
