Josephine (Jocie) Weeden is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She completed her undergraduate and dental orthodontic training at the same university. Since beginning her orthodontics practice in 1999, she has also been teaching in the undergraduate orthodontic clinic. Dr. Weeden currently teaches in the graduate orthodontic clinic on Friday afternoons. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes individualized treatment based on specific patient goals and emphasizes caution against starting treatment during mixed dentition, unless necessary. Dr. Weeden is actively involved in organized orthodontics, having served as President of the Jackson District Dental Association and President of the Michigan Orthodontic Association. She is currently the President-Elect of the Great Lakes Orthodontic Association. Outside of her professional commitments, Dr. Weeden enjoys running, listening to books and podcasts, and traveling with her husband and four children.
