Ramon Diaz-Bernardo is a full-time Professor of Marketing at IE Business School in Madrid. He holds an Engineering degree from Universidad de Oviedo in Spain, a Master of Science in Engineering from the University of Nottingham, and an MBA from ESDEN Business School in Madrid. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing from IESE Business School in Barcelona. Professor Diaz-Bernardo is the Director of the IE-Travel Club Loyalty Research Centre, which focuses on customer loyalty research. Additionally, he serves as the Academic Director for the IE-Coursera Marketing Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). He teaches strategic marketing to MBA students, Executive MBA participants, and in Executive Education In-Company programs at IE Business School. His consulting research interests are centered on services marketing, particularly in the areas of Tourism Marketing for both private (restaurant and hospitality sectors) and public (national tourism organizations and tourism promotion institutions) sides. He regularly consults for the United Nations World Tourism Organization and various private and public companies in the tourism and hotel sectors across Europe and America. Professor Diaz-Bernardo is a member of the American Marketing Association and contributes regularly to their annual meetings. He has also held visiting professor roles at Cornell University, Reykjavik University, ESSEC Business School, INCAE, Hong Kong Polytechnic, IAE Business School, and Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.
