Biography

Patricia Gabaldón currently serves as an Associate Professor of Managerial Economics at IE Business School. She teaches applied economics and country economic analysis. Patricia obtained her PhD in Economics from the University of Alcala, Spain, and has been a visiting fellow at Harvard University. Her research merges sociology and economics to understand gender issues and aids companies in enhancing decision-making among stakeholders. She investigates the role of the media in appointing female directors and explores the economic development of female entrepreneurs. Her studies assess the impact of economic cycles on gender quotas within boards of directors and top management positions, and the broader effects these have on economy and society. Currently, her research aims to promote sustainable corporate behavior and the influence of gender mainstreaming on sustainable economic growth. Her work has been published in numerous book chapters and articles in academic journals, including the Journal of Business Ethics, Corporate Governance: International Review, and Long Range Planning. Patricia has collaborated with multilateral global institutions and has developed successful multimedia cases utilized in MBA classes.
