John Burrows is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy and serves as the Academic Director of Part-Time Programs in Leadership. He is also an Associate Fellow at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School, where he teaches MBA and EMBA students. John has taught a negotiations class at Chicago Booth from 2014 to 2018 and resumed his teaching role in 2023. In addition to his MBA teaching, he works extensively in executive education, delivering programs on leadership, negotiations, decision-making, strategy, and organizational psychology to senior executives and mid-career professionals. His teaching spans both open enrollment and custom programs designed for specific organizations, blending academic expertise with practical applications across diverse industries. John holds an MBA and PhD in Behavioral Science from Chicago Booth and an MSt in Practical Ethics from Pembroke College, Oxford. His academic interests include the application of AI in teaching and learning, integration of AI into legal policy frameworks, and the role of social capital in hybrid remote-first workplaces. Before transitioning to academia, John partnered with Accenture, developing extensive expertise in consulting, sales, and marketing, and held senior roles in enterprise software companies.
