Brian D. Feinstein is an Associate Professor in the Legal Studies and Business Ethics Department at the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests include financial regulation, administrative law, agency design, and empirical legal studies. Feinstein's work examines the legal and political climate in which agencies operate and offers evidence-based prescriptions to strengthen performance within the U.S. administrative state. His scholarship has been published in prestigious law reviews and journals, such as the Chicago, Columbia, Duke, Georgetown, and Penn Law Reviews. He holds a Ph.D. in political science and a J.D. from Harvard University, as well as a B.A. from Brown University. Before entering academia, Feinstein clerked for Judge John Tinder on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, practiced law at Arnold & Porter LLP, and served as counsel for the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
