Troy Janes, Clinical Full Professor at Purdue University's Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of Business, possesses extensive academic and professional experience in accounting. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Utah State University in 1992 and subsequently joined Ernst & Young as an auditor and forensic accountant. After several years in the industry, he returned to graduate school and obtained his PhD in Accounting from the University of Michigan in 2005. Since joining Purdue University in 2012, Janes has also faculty experience at the University at Buffalo and Rutgers University. He teaches a variety of classes at both graduate and undergraduate levels, including auditing, fraud examination, financial accounting, and accounting data analytics. In addition, he serves as the Academic Director of the Master’s Degree in Accounting program. His research interests focus on the role of accounting information in predicting financial distress and the causes and consequences of fraud. His work has been featured in notable publications such as The Economist and Forbes, and he has contributed significantly to the development of the Uniform CPA Exam.
