Piergiorgio Percipalle is a Professor of Biology and the Associate Dean for Research at NYU Abu Dhabi. He holds a MSc in Molecular Genetics from the International School of Advanced Studies in Trieste, Italy, and a PhD in the same field from the same institution, also affiliated with the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB). Prior to joining NYUAD, he held postdoctoral positions at the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, UK, and focused his research on the mechanisms of nucleocytoplasmic transport at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. His research interests involve elucidating the functional architecture of the cell nucleus and examining gene expression regulation, cell signaling, and developmental biology. He is also a Guest Professor in the Department of Molecular Biosciences at the Wenner-Gren Institute of Stockholm University. Throughout his academic career, Percipalle has been dedicated to mentoring students and contributing to the advancement of knowledge in molecular genetics and cell biology.
