Jungseog Kang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at NYU Shanghai. He received his PhD in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology from the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied the regulatory mechanisms of the essential mitotic kinase, Aurora B, in yeast. Following his doctoral studies, he pursued postdoctoral training focusing on the chromosome segregation process in human cells, specifically uncovering the differential regulation mechanisms of mitotic kinases during mitosis. Since joining NYU Shanghai, he has published several impactful papers in the field of chromosome segregation and cancer drug screening, secured grants from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and presented his work at various international conferences. He is dedicated to undergraduate education, particularly in enhancing the learning experience in both classroom and laboratory settings.
