Carrie Ann Murray is a Professor in the Department of Classics and Archaeology at Brock University. Her research focuses on cultural interaction in the central Mediterranean from the Archaic to the early Imperial Period, particularly archaeological evidence of cultural exchange linked to ritual practices. Her doctoral work examined social hierarchy in Etruscan and early Roman society, and she subsequently contributed as a Research Associate on the Leverhulme Trust Greek Colonization and European Development Project at the University of Cambridge. Murray has conducted significant fieldwork, including directing the Brock University Archaeological Project at Pantelleria, where she investigates the Punic to Roman Periods at sanctuary sites. Her ongoing work explores social implications of sacrificial practices and votive offerings, with a deep commitment to understanding the themes of cultural interaction and ritual practices.
