Biography

Mark Santolucito is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Barnard College, Columbia University. He received his PhD in Computer Science, specializing in Program Synthesis and Computer Music from Yale University. His research focuses on developing program synthesis analysis techniques that provide programmers with new ways to interface with code. His work aims to make programming more accessible across various domains by lowering the barrier to entry for computer science. This includes optimizing workflows for advanced developers and addressing DevOps challenges in configuration, deployment, and infrastructure management. He is particularly interested in exploring new interaction modalities in the programming process within the realm of computer music. Mark is enthusiastic about involving undergraduate students in research and is dedicated to creating tools and techniques that empower users to implement the changes they want to see in the world.
