Christopher Rose is a Professor of Engineering at Brown University and the Director of the STEMJazz Programs. He received his S.B. in 1979, S.M. in 1981, and Ph.D. in 1985 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His career includes a tenure at AT&T Bell Laboratories and significant contributions in the field of wireless communication systems theory, earning him recognition as an IEEE Fellow in 2007. In 2022, he was awarded the IEEE Undergraduate Teaching Award for his dedication to teaching and mentoring. His research interests encompass novel mobile communication networks, interference avoidance methods, and molecular communication computing. Rose is also involved in exploring the implications of information theory in various domains and has looked into the possibility of extraterrestrial communication. His work has received accolades, including the 2003 IEEE Marconi Prize Paper Award.
