Biography

Denise Guadiana earned her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2013. Her pursuit of further knowledge in dental hygiene led her to graduate studies, and in 2018 she graduated with a Master of Science in Dental Hygiene degree from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Her thesis research project focused on educating dental professionals and students about the human papillomavirus vaccine. Her research interests include oral health promotion and access to care. In addition to her academic role, Denise continues to work as a clinician in private practice in southwest Detroit, where she was raised. She is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and the American Dental Education Association. In recognition of her contributions to the field, she was honored by being inducted into the Nu Chapter of Sigma Phi Alpha, a national dental hygiene honor society.
