Benjamin Lough is a Professor of Social Work and Business Administration at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he also serves as the Director of Social Innovation at the Gies College of Business. He received his PhD from Washington University in St. Louis and holds bachelor's and master's degrees in sociology and social work, respectively, from Brigham Young University. Before joining the University of Illinois, he was a Senior Researcher at the United Nations Volunteers in Bonn, Germany. Benjamin teaches courses focusing on nonprofit management, social entrepreneurship, and social enterprise, and his research explores the work of transnational voluntary organizations in promoting community development and social innovation.
