Beatrix M. Ueberheide is an Associate Professor at NYU Grossman School of Medicine in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology as well as the Department of Neurology. She serves as the Director of the Proteomics Core, where she leads significant advancements in mass spectrometry techniques that are pivotal for proteomic studies. Her extensive expertise lies in biological mass spectrometry, particularly in de novo sequencing and the characterization of post-translational modifications. Ueberheide's career began with a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Virginia, where she specialized in histone modifications and developed strategies for protein characterization. Following her postdoctoral training at Rockefeller University from 2006, she has made substantial contributions to numerous studies across fields, including chromatin analysis and antibody sequencing. Currently, her research focuses on developing state-of-the-art mass spectrometry techniques to explore circulating antibodies and their interactions with peptide toxins.
