Yifei Lu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accountancy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting from the University of Rochester in 2023. Prior to this, he completed his M.S. in Business Administration at the same institution in 2019 and a B.A. in Mathematical Economics from Fudan University in 2017. His research interests lie at the intersection of traditional accounting practices and the implications of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives. Professor Lu has co-authored publications focusing on the effects of geopolitical tensions on corporate transparency and the accessibility of information for foreign investors during corporate conference calls. He currently teaches a graduate course called 'Data Analytics Foundations', where he guides students through the techniques and tools necessary for effective data analysis within accounting contexts. His teaching and research endeavors are aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of the modern accounting landscape influenced by data analytics and socio-economic factors.
