Marie Hopwood is a faculty member at Vancouver Island University specializing in anthropological archaeology. With a Ph.D. from Binghamton University (SUNY), and a Master's degree from California State University, Fullerton, she brings a wealth of knowledge from her educational background. Her research interests are diverse, focusing on the archaeology of the ancient Near East and the anthropology of Western Asia. In addition, she explores the archaeology and anthropology of food and alcohol, as well as museum studies. Her expertise extends to the study of pottery and ground stone artifacts, contributing to a deeper understanding of past cultures and societies. She is dedicated to providing students with a comprehensive education in anthropology and archaeology, fostering a critical appreciation for cultural heritage and historical context.
