Dr. Jennifer Cash

Assistant Professor

Biography

Dr. Jennifer Cash is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of California, Davis. Her research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms that regulate Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factors (RhoGEFs), which are enzymes that activate GTPases, key signaling proteins involved in various cellular processes such as cytoskeleton dynamics, cell migration, and cell growth. Her laboratory employs a combination of biochemical, structural, and cellular approaches, including cryo-electron microscopy, to investigate the function and regulation of RhoGEFs. The research aims to explore the proteins that interact with these regulators and effectors, providing insights into their roles in health and disease, particularly in relation to cancer progression and metastasis. The ultimate goal of her work is to uncover potential therapeutic targets for diseases associated with RhoGEF dysregulation.
