Stephanie Hicks is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Biostatistics at Johns Hopkins University. She is recognized for her expertise in developing scalable computational methods and open-source software for biomedical data analysis, particularly in the fields of single-cell spatial transcriptomics and genomics data. Her work is aimed at leading to improved understanding of human health and disease. Hicks has a background in statistics, having completed her PhD at Rice University in 2013, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She has been invited to participate in the National Academy of Medicine's Emerging Leaders Forum, honoring outstanding early- to mid-career professionals in biomedical science and health-related fields.
