Greg Pierce is a Co-Director at the Luskin Center for Innovation and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban Planning at UCLA. His research primarily focuses on basic resource and service provision access for disadvantaged and marginalized populations, involving various scales and sectoral foci, particularly in water and transport. Using formal policy design techniques, he evaluates service provision strategies shaped by national and sub-national agencies. His work incorporates political economy analysis to assess the allocation of services in specific neighborhoods and households. Furthermore, Dr. Pierce applies rational choice behavior models to understand the strategies employed by low-income urban households to secure access to basic services. He has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles and his projects have received support from numerous organizations.
